Pelion is almost an accident of nature. Its lush stream-covered mountains provide a home for Europes most concentrated variety of trees and plant life. The mountain villages are heavily protected by conservation laws and are inhabited by locals who are unusually aware of their heritage and who have a natural inclination to preserve the style of another age.
The architecture is unique to Pelion and although each village retains its own character, the one thing they all have in common is their magnificent leafy village squares.
